This is a human being that our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ died for. I realize that there are elements of society that we try to stay away from because we are conditioned to do so. Dear ladies and gentlemen I believe that the Lord is stretching us and helping us to go out into all the world and compel individuals to Christ.

Matthew Chapter 25 v 31 – 46

31: When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
32: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34: Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37: Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

45: Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
46: And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Please, let the Word’s of Jesus soak into your spirit. We need to take heed to what He is telling us. I don’t know about you but I want to hear Jesus say to me “well done thou good and faithful servant.”

I would like to first say that Bro Cory is an awesome man of God. He was one of the first people that I ever met when I first came into the Apostolic Church. To be perfectly honest I really didn’t have a Pastor in my life until I went to Greater Life Apostolic Church. I started attending there in 1996. What I wanted to mention about this great man was that when I was there about one week the church had a foot washing and communion service. I had the honor to experience foot washing with Bro Cory. I know that he knew I had no idea what I was doing. I mean a grown man washing another mans feet. He was so gracious yet didn’t say a word or laughed at me. But in that moment I experienced something spiritual. Praise the Lord for men and women that touch our lives. The world was a better place because of Cory. His destiny is complete; now he can be in the presence of the Lord forever and endlessly perfect his praise unto the Lord. Not only that there are some friends up there he can hang with. We will continue to pray for Sis Jina and the kids along with the family.

Think about this my friends. The Lord’s mercies are new everyday. When the Lord touches us and we finally yield to “Him” we become new creatures. Old things are passed away and all things are become new. Praise the Lord for “His” Lovingkindness.

I have come to the conclusion that if there is something uplifting to say to go ahead and put it out there even if it’s 25 or 50 words. It doesn’t have to be an entire page so that is what we are going to do. We are going to add daily words of encouragement and / or testimonies.

Here is my thought for the day. Let the Lord build you up for He will add beauty to your life. May the Lord give each of you a great weekend and go to Church and worship the King of Kings and Lord of Lords….Finally, invite a friend or guest to God’s house….

2008 had many up’s and down’s.  Why does life have to be so complicated.  Why can’t our problems go away if we do our part to fix them.  This may seem really basic but there are things that are out of our control.  This includes life and the unplanned circumstances that come our way.  There are storms that come that we had nothing to do with.

Here is an excellent prayer that contains in it a lot of wisdom.  ”God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can’t change and the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference .”  We need the mercy and grace of God to lead us to where He wants us to end up.  The burdens of our life can get us down and sometimes we carry them with us from place to place, moment to moment and even memory to memory.  It is my personal belief that we need to make a decision to give our burdens to the Lord today!  

Let us not carry the burdens of 2008 into 2009.  The Lord Jesus is our burden bearer.  He is our life sustainer and our purpose for living.

1 Peter Chapter 5 verses 6 – 11

5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 5:9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 5:11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

We have been given another day.  It is a new day. The Lord is with us, His mercies are new everyday.  We know that the Word of God says His Grace is sufficient.  Tomorrow is a new year.  My question is this;

·         What happened in 2008?

·         Did you have a good year?  

·         How are your finances?

·         Better yet, how is your health?

·         Even more significant how is our family?

·         Are the children healthy and doing well?

·         Most importantly did the Lord answer our prayers in 2008?

·         Why would we carry a burden from 2008 into 2009?

We are confronted with the fact that the Lord Jesus is on our side and he has answered our prayers. He knows exactly what we need when we need it. Let us end 2008 at an altar and let us begin 2009 with an altar as well.  Here is an excellent scripture reference that teaches us about going in a new direction.

Matthew Chapter 2 verses 1 – 12

 2:1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, 2:2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. 2:3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. 2:4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. 2:5 And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, 2:6 And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel. 2:7 Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared. 2:8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also. 2:9 When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. 2:10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. 2:11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. 2:12 And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

Let us pray:

Lord Jesus, thank you for being with me and my family for all of 2008. Thank you Jesus that you have been with me every day, you have been faithful. You have met every need and I thank you. Lord I also want to give you praise for life, health and strength and peace of mind. Lord I look forward to what you will do in 2009. I trust you that everything will be alright. I love you Jesus!

Let us lay aside every pre-conceived idea and notion about one another and even about how our day or week or even our month has been going. Each of us need a personal revival.

You see this is God’s business!

I would like to declare that if we allow the Lord to have His way in our lives then we can receive the Lord’s favor and blessing in our lives. The Lord wants to cause a great revival in us as individuals and as a body of believers. The definition of revival is stated as the act or an instance of reviving. The condition of being revived. A restoration to use, acceptance, activity, or vigor after a period of obscurity or quiescence. A time of reawakened interest in religion. A meeting or series of meetings for the purpose of reawakening religious faith, often characterized by impassioned preaching and public testimony.

Are we hungry for Jesus? Do we want more of him? Are we satisfied spiritually? Being revived and desiring revival allows the Lord to do a work in our lives. You see we must become servants of the Word of the Lord. We must realize that when the great revivalist is among us he (Jesus) is there to help us. Remember that Jesus is here to help us. Jesus is our comforter!

The Greek word for comforter in the New Testament is Paraclete. The word paraclete as found in 1 John 2 verse 1 and is used to describe the intercessory role of Jesus Christ. In John 14 verse 16 Jesus says another paraclete will come to help his disciples.

In Jesus Christ there is freedom and liberty. In order to get the most out of a heaven ordained revival we must let go of things that are holding us back. The Bible says that today is the day of salvation. Well today let go of those things that are holding you back. We may be dealing with troubled relationships or unsaved family. We may even be burdened down with financial issues. I would like to remind you that He can and would like to help us with our problems. Jesus knows exactly what we are going thru. He will never leave is nor forsake us. He is not thru with us yet.

We have the momentum of the Holy Ghost behind us. The creative force of God is with us.

If you could imagine with me for a minute what it must have been like when Jesus entered a room.

Try to picture the woman who had the alabaster box.  This was something that was precious to her.  This box was the most valuable thing that she had and she gave it all away.  The passage of scripture that I am referring to is in Luke Chapter 7 verses 36 – 50. 

[36] And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to meat.
[37] And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,
[38] And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
[39] Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.
[40] And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.
[41] There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.
[42] And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?
[43] Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.
[44] And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.
[45] Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.
[46] My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.
[47] Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
[48] And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.
[49] And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?
[50] And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
 As you are reading this entry I am using my own words to describe this awesome event.  She had the right idea.

We can learn so much from her and what she was doing and why she was doing it.  She recognized who Jesus was to her, and that there were no limits on what she was willing to give to Jesus.  Why am I referencing this passage of scripture as it relates to repentance?  The reason is; she knew that Jesus was the Savior; she also recognized that she had a past that needed to be forgiven by the Lamb of God.  This woman was considered a heathen by the religious, but she didn’t care.  She gave what she had; she offered herself to the Lord as an act of worship. 

The Lord gave honor to this woman, and spoke freedom into her life when he said, “thy sins are forgiven”. He also told her, “thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.”  She came in bound with a past that needed to be forgiven and healed.  She left free, and no longer bound to the past that she was held captive to.  The Lord forgave her because of her willingness to give herself completely to the Lord.

My prayer is that who ever reads this, saint or sinner, would be encouraged to go deeper and higher, to become more intimate with Jesus.  Wouldn’t it be great to wake up one day and no longer carry the burden of life, and walk around frustrated with yourself and others around you?  The Lord offers deliverance to each of us. He is waiting for us to call upon Him.
